Yeps, well my Canada day was, as much of the inhabitants of the Island of Montreal, moving day.
Now, 2 years ago, I had a disaster moving day, mainly because of bad preperation and also tensions with the mother-in-law who tough this was a picknick, and not a move.
Any ways, this year was well organised. I had reserved a 16′ cube truck, all my boxes where identified in black or red writing, depending on the fagility of its contents, and I also had a 4 color code to determine what room it was destined to go in in the new appartement.
But, to be fair to all my 3 readers out there (seeing how frequently I blog these days, I would be surprised to see any more…), I’ll start the story at the beginning.
We had acces to the appartement on the 29th of June since the old tenentes had their condo since the 1st of june. So the father-in-law and my brother-in-law (the youngest) came down from Sherbrooke to give me a hand with painting the appartement (pictures will be given later when I have acces to the Net at home). So we proceded to painting the Kichen in a nice orange (very shinny!), the hall and living room in a nice light blue and the office and bedroom in a calm beige cream color.
We had to do a total of 2 layer of paintin every room, and the old colors where also pale so no primer was needed. It took us a total of 2 day to get every thing done and we still had time to clean the kitchen fridge, oven, and the floors.
So on the 1st, we did the move. I was up at 6 AM because I was meeting my parents, who came down from Lac-Mégantic to give a hand, to get the truck. Getting it was no problem, and we got back at around 7h30 AM with it. We parked it on a free space of asphalt between a nabouring building and the side walk. At 8, we started to break down the furniture that could be (office, the sofa, etc) and at 8h30 we started moving the stuff down. Started with the bed cuz thats a beast in itself, especialy with the stairs we had at the old appartement (trust me, it took about 15 mins for the bed compared to the 2-3 mins for the rest of the stuff). So at that point we where 5, my mom, my dad, father and brother-in-law and me. At 8h45 (after the bed was down) 2 of my friends arrived. So all was going well and we left at around 10 AM to arrive at the next place at 10h30. We unloaded and where done at around 1h30, more then enough time to to give the truck back (due for 12h30).
In all, we had eaten and most of my troops left at around 1h30 PM. Only my parents stayed to help rebuild one of the office desks. So at 3 PM, I was al done and alone.
So thats a good resumay of all that happened. I sould have acces toi the net at home on the 11th, so as of then, updates should restart.
Any ways, alot of stuff to do, and updates to look at. So I shall talk to you all later.
