Cooking with the Chef, first edition! – Chinese fondu!

Yeah, ok, so I ain’t no chef, but I still cook a lot, seeing that my GF is very busy (and that’s and understatement, she didn’t get it, be a man, drop it LMAO!), well I do a lot of the cooking.

Most of it is mainly simple recipes, but I try some new things from time to time.

Any ways, here is my Mom’s Chinese fondu!

Ingredients

  • Chicken broth (8 cups)
  • 2-3 cut shallot branches
  • 2 hashed garlic cloves
  • Hashed ginger roots

So first off, get your 8 cups of water to boil. While your waiting for the water, start hashing your ingredients.

BTW’ on this picture, I am missing my garlic, but it gives about the same quantity as the hashed ginger root’s. On this picture, I also have 3 branches of shallot, which might have been a bit too much. Any ways. Once the water is boiling, add your chicken broth, the ingredients, stir a bit and then stop the heat.

You now have your Fondu ready and just reheat it 5-10 minutes before you start serving, and it will be all good!

P.S. Ok, well just wanted to add, we got 45 cm of snow here yesterday, and well, usally it isn’t a problem in Quebec, but some city’s completely closed down (Sherbrooke). Here is a picture to give you an idea of what having a car means with that much snow. And that’s the car AFTER the guy took the 1 1/2 foot of snow from the car. Yes, the front and the wheel’s are completely under the snow.
